Patient Information
Did You Know?
Dental care and treatment during pregnancy is important. Your oral health can affect your baby now…and later.
Babies should have their teeth checked by a dentist or doctor by age 1.
Poor oral health makes it difficult for kids to eat, sleep and learn.
You and your kids are healthier with a healthy mouth!
What We Do
The SmileMobile program provides oral health services to children, youth, pregnant and postpartum people and adults (at designated clinics) with limited access to dental care in their community with the use of a three chair mobile dental van.
The Dental Team
The SmileMobile team includes a licensed dentist, registered dental assistant, clinic manager and volunteer dental professionals in the communities we travel to. In some areas, the team will also include a licensed dental hygienist.
Services May Include
The dental team may provide one or more of the following services:
oral health education, examination, x-rays, cleaning, sealants, fluoride varnish, fillings, simple extraction and written referral for patients with comprehensive dental needs
Who Qualifies for SmileMobile Program?
Pregnant, postpartum people, babies, young children, youth and adults (designated clinics) enrolled in Apple Health (Medicaid), commercial insured or uninsured.
Is the SmileMobile in my area?
Check our SmileMobile schedule to see if we are coming to your area. If not, please check out our dental resources for a dental clinic or dentist near you. DentistLink.org is a free referral service to help you find a dentist for you or your children, including dentists who accept Apple Health or serve patients who don’t have dental insurance
Schedule a Dental Visit
To call and schedule a dental appointment when the SmileMobile is in your community, please call 1.888.286.9105. Once you have scheduled the dental appointment, you will receive alink from Dentrix Ascend to complete health history forms.
If you do not have access to an electronic device to complete your health history form before your appointment, you will fill out the form at your appointment and provide insurance (e.g, Medicaid) information.
Day of the Dental Appointment
Please arrive 15 minutes before your dental appointment. Once you arrive, you can wait in your car and text SmileMobile staff to let them know you are there or wait inside the clinic partner facility (i.e., church, school). If you need to fill out your health forms, you will do so at this time. A SmileMobile team member will escort you to the SmileMobile.
