What We Do

“SmileMobile is an invaluable benefit to our small, rural school, giving children the opportunity for dental care for the first time.”

Patricia Beathard, Superintendent, Brinnon School District

The SmileMobile program provides oral health services to underserved children, youth, pregnant, postpartum people at no cost to site partners. The program includes a 39 foot, 3 chair dental van (SmileMobile) that serves as a mobile clinic to provide diagnostic, preventive, restorative and emergent care across the state in areas with limited or no access to dental care.

Arcora Foundation manages, operates and staffs the mobile van, and works closely with local community partners to assist in recruitment of children, youth, pregnant, postpartum people (Black, Indigenous, People of Color)most in need of care who can least afford and access care. The program accepts Apple Health (Medicaid), and individuals with no insurance.

“The SmileMobile provided a crucial service to some of our most vulnerable residents in Wahkiakum.”

Julie Johnston, Community Services Manager, Wahkiakum County

The SmileMobile has visited over 100 communities and provided dental care to close to 50,000 individuals since the program began in 1995.

The SmileMobile operates on average of 44 weeks per year and provides dental care to approximately 1,500 individuals.

The SmileMobile program is a partnership with Arcora Foundation, parent company Delta Dental of Washington, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and local organizations in the communities the SmileMobile travels too.

Chuukese family

“This was an opportunity for our families to get dental care and refer for additional care. It was a very successful clinic for us as we were able to serve several of our Chuukese families who have never had a dental visit.”

Werlyna Erwin, Chuukese Family Advocate, Longview School District

We are fortunate to be able to provide our services to those in need in part because of our partners in the community.

We work with organizations to support healthy smiles across our state, including schools, churches, Boys & Girls Clubs, local health departments, community centers, medical/clinics, organizations and state agencies. We also work with a number of non-profit groups that fund efforts in their local community.

Every community we visit is unique and we partner with many amazing businesses and people.
